Interview With Elizabeth Amber

CA: Elizabeth Amber will be inhabiting my blog this week, so come on and leave her a comment and if you have any questions make sure to ask them! Elizabeth is also holding a contest on her Yahoo group. The link is at the bottom of the interview.

EA: Thank you for including me in your blog, Crystal!!!

CA: Elizabeth thank you for taking the time to answer these lovely interview questions *smiles* I swear your book covers leave almost nothing to the imagination…good job girl!
CA: What genre(s) do you write? Why do you write the stories that you write?

EA: I write erotic historical paranormal romance for Kensington Aphrodisia.I wrote the first book about the eldest satyr brother (NICHOLAS, THE LORDS OF SATYR) not knowing if there was a market for the type of book I was writing or if anyone would publish it. But I was intrigued with my story as it unfolded, so I forged ahead.

CA: When did you first realize you wanted to be a writer? Who or what was your inspiration for writing?
EA: I've read so many romance novels, and I'd thought about writing one for a long time. The idea for THE LORDS OF SATYR series came out of my interest in Greco-Roman art history. In mythology, satyrs are the followers of the wine god, Bacchus/Dionysus. They're also associated with all things carnal, which seemed like a good fit for erotic historical romance. The paranormal stuff just came out of my kinky side of my brain.

CA: What is your work schedule like when you're writing?

EA: Just call me a computer slave.

CA: Your book is about to be sent into the reader world, what is one word that describes how you feel?

EA: Freaked and happy

CA: What do you like to do when you're not writing?

EA: Cook. Eat. Drink and be merry with family, cats, and friends. All the things I don't get to do when I am writing.
CA: How many books have you written?
EA: My first two novels are published, with two more in the Lords of Satyr series to come. I used to call it a trilogy, but then I sold a 4th book and there may be a couple more. I guess it'll soon be sextuplets.

CA: Do you tend to base your characters on real people or are they totally from your imagination?

EA: All imagination, though I do go on eye-candy hunts when I need a description of the hero.

CA: Do you have any advice for aspiring writers?

EA: Outline if you can. I took Shayla Blacks storyboarding-outline class online recently, and it has changed my plotting life. I wasn't an outliner before and I still don't do traditional outlines. Storyboarding is a sort of visual outline and it's working for me. Giving me more control over my story.

CA: How can a reader contact you or purchase your books?
The books are available on Amazon.com or b&n.com or in bookstores.

Hey Elizabeth and Crystal!

Great interview Crystal, as always! :) Keem 'em comin' girlfriend!

Elizabeth, congrats on the future arrival of your sextuplets! I've got 2 published, a 3rd in the series due out in April, and at least 2 more on the way. They all started as one... LOL. LOVE the covers of your book, but I have to tell ya, seeing the one titled "Nicholas" is a little odd for me .. my oldest son (18) has the same name... lookin at the cover makes me think of him (because of the name, NOT the picture .. I'm a GOOD mom!!)

:)

Great interview ladies .. and Elizabeth, may you have MANY successes!

Hi Crystal, Mj, blackrose, Christina, WindyCity, and Raine.

Raine, that's so weird that your name is the same as my book title and your interview is just below mine. I did a doubletake.

MJ,I love the name Nicholas (obviously). You chose well!

Crystal, I hope to go to RAW someday. It's by invitation only I think, right?

Elizabeth

HI, Elizabeth!

Oh, THE LORDS OF SATYR, sounds intriguing. I went kind of crazy doing research for my Greek muse story. Ok, I should admit I've studied archaeology. I'm kind of crazy anyway. But Greek myth is fascinating. I can't wait to run to the bookstore this weekend! ;) Skhye
